It happened that thursday
Last thursday at work, just after lunch, as we set to go out for a walk, suddenly the electricity went off. In no time the UPS backup had completely drained off. We got to know that the electricity would not return till 4.00 pm. "That is 2 more hours to go, what do we do till then", we all said in a worried tone. Praj. O suggested, that we catch up a afternoon movie at CitiPride. Some of them even agreed. Others hesitated. What if the electricity comes before that, we will have to leave the movie halfway.
Soon Sanyogita suggested that we spend that afternoon at her place. Although her she stays a little far from our office, after some hesitation everyone agreed. We then sat up deciding, how the 9 of us, would travel upto Dhairi. Finally we decided that since We had 3 scootys, 6 pple could go on scootys and the rest of them would have to take a six seater.
Praj O. and Vaijayanti zoomed ahead of us, while Vaishali-Sangita and Me and Sanyogita waited till the rest of them found a six-seater. Soon Sanyogita found a sixseater that would take us to Dhairi. As Anu, Hiral & Sonia, boared the six-seater, sanyogita instructed them where to get off at Dhairi. Although Singhagad road was not very crowded that afternoon, the incomplete road contructions, and pot holes, made the traffic go slower. The heat was adding to the frustration.
But the thought of taking some time off from work, shortened our journey. We reached before the sixseater, and waited for the rest of them to arrive. Sanyogita indicated that their society was located at the top of a small hill, and it would take atleast 5-7 minutes to climb up the hill. By the time the six-seater reached, we had taken a trip up the hill, and dropped off 3 of our friends, in her society, and we came back to make the next pickup. Climbing the hill for the second time, it seemed more fun, and felt as if we were on a picnic. Soon, we found a shady parking spot, parked our scootys, and headed for the lift.
Sanyogita lead us till her door, and welcomed us in her home. As soon as everyone entered, kicking off our chappals, we headed striaght for the balcony. Ah ! what a breath taking view it was. As far as our sight could go, all we could see, were the lush green Sinhagad hills. We stood there for some more time, admiring the scenery. The breeze was strong, and within seconds, all our fatigue, had vanished. Sanyogita showed us around, the house. Enjoying the view, we all sat down chatting. Just when We were having tea, were joined by Bhakti. Finishing the tea and biscuts, as we chatted and giggled, the sounds of our laughter echoed in that quite, peaceful surroundings.
Although we wished to stay back and have some more fun, the clock reminded us, that we had to get back to work. With refreshed minds, we returned to salus. What a day it was, that unexpected and much needed break from work, really proved refreshing.
