Yeh sham Salus ke naam
"I'll see you tommorrow then", Sangita said, as she left for home friday evening. "We'll be there", we replied as we waved her goodbye. Sangita's parents were out of town that saturday, and she had invited us over at her place for some snacks.
The next day, Me, Anu and Bhakti met near Salus, we picked up some flowers on our way and proceeded to Sangitas place. Sangita welcomed us with a warm smile. Seated on the sofa was Praj.O., the first one to arrive. We settled down, asking Sangita, if the rest of them were on their way. "They will be here soon", Sangita informed us. Sangita, showed us around the house. Paintings, Embroidered patterns, Designs created with M-seal, pictures of her salad decorations, beautiful artifacts created by sangita, adorned the house. After having a tour of the house, we all stood in the balcony, admiring the beautiful view of the surrondings. Standing tall, from the fifth floor, you could see a spectacular view of kothrud, the jai bhavani hills, and watch the sun go down beyond the hills. Just as, we sat up sipping tea, we were joined in by Sonia, Hiral, Vaijayanti and her little daughter Aditi. We excited rushed to meet Aditi. A little stuffed toy, Tweety caught little, Aditi's attention, and she began playing with it. While Sangita served tea, we sat up chatting about what we did through the day. Soon, Sanyogita arived, and immediately upon her arrival she announced that she would not be able to stay for long, as she had some guests coming at her place. With little Aditi running around the house, and the rest of us chatting and giggling, the entire house was filled up with enthusiasm. The door bell rang, and as Vaishali entered, everyone asked her, why she had not got her son Nihar along with her.
After we had all finished out tea, Sangita agreed to show us around the neighbourhood. The entire building complex, was nicely landscaped, with lush green lawns, nicely shaped bushes, wooden benches to relax, play parks for little children, gym area and the swimming pool. Little Aditi rushed towards the childrens play area, and sat on a little swing. Looking at her enjoying herself, we wished we could sit on those slides and swings too. We even clicked a picture or two, near the nicely shaped bushes. Some of us along with Sangita proceeded to see the swimming pool and the gym area. While the rest of us kicked off our sandals and walked on the soft green, lawn barefooted. Praj.O. returned from their gym visit and enlightened us on the benifits on walking barefooted on the lawn. "Walking like this will help reduce your eye problems", she said stepping on the grass. Sanyogita said that she had to leave now, so we all bid her goodbye, and walked back towards the lift.
Settling down in the sofas, everyone declared that they were hungry. As Sangita went into the kitchen, Bhakti, Vaishali and other followed her to give her a hand. In no time Sangita returned with a plate of Misal-Pav, and handed it over to each of us. Finely chopped tomato, onion, potato, mixed with sprouts and farsan, were laid in the plate nicely covered with a gravy called "Cut", garnished with fresh corriander. I immediately pulled out a slice of bread, dipped it in the misal, and "yummy" was the word that came out of my mouth. After having a nice plentiful of misal pav, we stepped into the balcony to have some fresh air. Night had fallen, and the breeze has started getting colder. Everyone asked to see some photos of Sangita and her family, so Sangita brought out some albums from her past trips. Watching the photos, we kept asking her questions, "who is this","where was this taken", and she promptly replied to our queries. Next, for dessert, Sangita, brought out plates filled with chocolate icecream topped with choco chips. We relished every bit of it.
With our heavily filled tummies, and with happy hearts, we all thanked Sangita for arranging this gettogther and returned home with happy memories of the day.
